We Need an AXIS OF RESISTANCE Amid the Midterm Election Circus

The Center for Political Innovation's Plans for August and the Fall

A Special Message from Founder and Director Caleb Maupin

The upcoming midterm elections have almost nothing to offer America's working families and those who strive for peace against the big monopolies and their drive for war and a low-wage police state. In 2024, Trump gave voice to anti-war and anti-establishment sentiments alongside his usual grab bag of demagogy, while Kamala Harris seemed to defend the establishment. But after getting elected, Trump repudiated everything good he said during his campaign and doubled down on the bad.

Trump Betrayed His Supporters

The unprovoked war against Iran, a war that opened with what can be described as nothing more than a murder spree on February 28th, 2026, is a staunch betrayal of Trump's repeated promises of "No New Wars." Trump murdered the Supreme Leader, bombed a girls' elementary school, and has continued to attack the Islamic Republic for no other reason than wanting to secure Israel's ability to commit its crimes unchallenged.

The NATO proxy war against Russia continues, with Trump announcing that Ukraine will be granted a license for Patriot missiles. Trump said he could solve the war in 24 hours, but it proceeds as Ukraine adopts a strategy of murdering Russian civilians. America foots the bill, despite hints of deals sparking hopes every so often and then being forgotten.

Trump kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his spouse and is holding them in a display of imperial arrogance that brushes aside any notion of international norms and is a threat against any nation that would defy Washington and Wall Street.

Trump's administration has deported students and others simply for their political views on Israel, and his ICE raids are rolling back civil liberties as they storm into homes without warrants, shoot those protesting them on the streets, and detain even US citizens without pause.

Trump has denounced and repudiated those within his camp who stuck with an anti-war or pro-civil liberties message. He views Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, and Candace Owens as enemies. Tulsi Gabbard has resigned, along with many who worked closely with Robert Kennedy Jr.

Any notion that Trump is fighting the deep state or asserting an independent foreign policy agenda must be discarded. Trump is the deep state. His promises to improve the economy are also laughable. As bad as Biden-era inflation was, it's nowhere near the inflation his unprovoked criminal war with Iran has caused. In August, when US oil reserves run dry, this inflation is likely to get even worse.

Democrats Are No Alternative

If the Democrats were to retake Congress in the midterm elections and impeach Trump, there would be absolutely no reason for the working class or advocates of peace to defend him. He has repudiated the support of all who wanted good things from him.

But the Democrats are not any better than Trump. We saw this under Biden. Unlike Trump, they are honest in saying they want endless war against Russia. While they sat down during the State of the Union address as Trump made partisan statements, they rose to their feet in applause when he lied about Iran and set the stage for his evil war. While Trump has targeted Palestine activists and seems to be moving toward repression of those who stand with Cuba and Venezuela, Biden sent the FBI to raid the homes of the Uhuru Movement and dragged them into federal court for wanting peace with Russia.

Biden's four years, like Obama's eight years, were years of inflation, the hollowing out of America's infrastructure, war, and regime-change provocations, all to serve the big monopolists and bankers. The midterms are a lose-lose situation for the working class. Whether Congress stays red or turns blue is of no concern to Innovationists.

There are some glimmers of hope on the margins of the major parties. Ro Khanna has opposed Israel and called for a populist alliance to end wars. Among the "socialists" who won Democratic primaries in New York is one single voice who opposed sending more weapons to Ukraine. Rand Paul has made anti-war statements. Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, and Marjorie Taylor Greene speak of forming a new party.

The American People Are Angry!

The American people, in their millions, are overwhelmingly more anti-war, anti-establishment, and filled with alienation and outrage than ever before in the last 50 years. The US public, though divided on cultural issues, agrees overwhelmingly that the wars are wrong, that a group of rich people run the government and do not care about the American people, that our freedoms are being taken away, and that their living standards are dropping. This growing anti-establishment sentiment is what the US intelligence apparatus is desperate to divert and manipulate. They fear its inevitable conclusion: a mass populist movement against the big monopolies and their international system.

The deep state’s strategy is for a "years of lead" in America, much like the Italian public was confused and demoralized during the 1970s. The murder of Charlie Kirk, the celebration of Luigi Mangione, and the endless social media confusion seeks to incite Americans against each other rather than against the ruling elite. The push for political violence is extremely dangerous and must be resisted by all rational political voices. Escalating America's false polarization along cultural, regional, and ethnic lines plays into exactly what the billionaire monopolists behind the international duopoly are looking to achieve. A divided, traumatized, and terrorized population will be one that is completely powerless to resist.

Behind all this confusion is the breakdown of the system of production for profit. The irrationality of poverty amid plenty and economic turmoil rooted in technological advances is more of a reality today than ever before. Artificial Intelligence is leading to a situation where human labor is more unneeded than ever before, and the reality of abundance for all is closer than ever before. The only thing that stands in the way is the chaos of the market and the rule of profits. If this barrier were lifted, we could easily be living in a world of unlimited abundance and technological advancement, with a good, happy, and voluntary life for all. Human creativity has outstripped the narrow limits of the old imperialist economic system rooted in colonialism. We are ready to soar ahead, but doing so requires a pro-growth, pro-humanity state that invests in people and defeats the power of the international bankers.

We Have a Job to Do!

The midterm elections are going to be a circus. All politics in America is becoming a crass dog-and-pony show, and the desperation of both sides as we head to the November polls will only make this political pornographification more acute. There will be provocations, scandals, surprises, and all else. Desperate pleas will be made to pull the increasingly angry working people into one bandwagon or another, motivated by competing political nightmares presented by their opponents.

What is needed is a large, visible anti-imperialist outreach campaign amid the chaos of the coming fall. The Center for Political Innovation must be the AXIS OF RESISTANCE WITHIN THE MIDTERM CIRCUS. We will not campaign for Democrats, Republicans, or anyone. We will say, "Iran is not our enemy! Russia is not our enemy! China is not our enemy!" We will not scare people with horror stories of Trump or the Democrats; we will empower people with a vision of what is possible, saying, "We need a government of action to fight for working families!"

We will educate, intervene, engage in outreach, and recruit to our ranks.

Our upcoming national 7-day training program will involve perfecting the skills of political postering, direct engagement, disruptive interventions at public events, and seeking out activist-oriented "seekers" in political spaces to win them to join our efforts. During the 7-day training program, we will hold our national convention on August 15th, themed around the slogan "Finish the American Revolution! End the British Empire System and Its Wars!" On August 14th, we will hold a "France Out of Africa!" rally.

Already we have distributed thousands of copies of our booklet Why Is It Impossible to Get This Flower in America? using the story of Kim Il Sungia as a hook to spread our vision of peace with North Korea and a new America beyond imperialism. Our members in Los Angeles and Minneapolis have engaged in almost daily outreach campaigns at beaches, universities, and public events. Our local organization in New York City is functioning once again, with rallies and educational meetings. Our efforts to popularize Ibrahim Traoré and the Alliance of Sahel States, and oppose the attacks on Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba, have been very well received.

We are ready to swing into action. The midterm elections to take place as this crisis intensifies requires our message. This fall there should be thousands of anti-imperialist posters all over the major cities. There should be thousands more who are handed an anti-imperialist booklet for the first time. There should be thousands who become aware of our message as we wrestle hold of the microphone at a public rally and call out the liars and demagogues who march us to war. There are hundreds of activists who are ready to know us and join our efforts, who need to meet us in key places where those who are active and awakened may gather.

We have an important task. Amid the upcoming shitshow of the midterms, we must function as the AXIS OF RESISTANCE, opposing the Red Team, the Blue Team, the War Team, the Israel Team, the Degrowth Team, the Political Repression Team, and the entire Globalism/Imperialism Team. We must be the Working Families Team, the Hope Team, the Anti-Imperialist Team, the INNOVATIONIST TEAM.

We have a very clear job to do. We need volunteers to do it. We need you to attend our 7-day training program. We need you to attend our upcoming convention. We need you to DONATE MONEY so the books can be printed, the travel costs can be covered, and the events can be held.

August will be key in solidifying our ranks and setting the stage for the upcoming events. We need to gather the funds and the people to make August a success and go marching into the fall.

Now is the time to step up and get involved. You are not powerless. It is human beings like you, with intelligence and willpower, who are the makers of history. We need your support more than ever to make August and the fall happen. Please help us however you can. The coming months could be pivotal in determining the future of humanity.
