Tucker Carlson stands with CPI on “No Kings!” Anti-War Action

In a September 24 interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep, Tucker Carlson pointed to the “No Kings” demonstrations while discussing what he viewed as the absence of a major anti-war movement following the outbreak of war with Iran.  Carlson said: “But once the war broke out, the first thing I noticed was the absence of anti-war protests. As someone who's been to an awful lot of them, as a lifelong resident of Washington, D.C., I've been to a lot of anti-war protests.”

Carlson continued: “So right after this war began, you had the No Kings protest…They didn't choose to use those protests to say anything really about the biggest thing that's happened in my lifetime, which was the initiation of a regime change war in Iran.”

On March 28, members of the Center for Political Innovation had taken an anti-war message directly into the “No Kings” demonstration in New York City. CPI members carried Iranian flags and signs reading “STOP BOMBING IRAN! Democrats in Congress Could Stop This War!” Activists repeatedly chanted: “Democrats can stop the war! Hands off Iran!”

CPI activists eventually stood in the path of the procession, obstructing the parade while continuing to chant. Footage from the action shows confrontations with march marshals, and how the NYPD was brought in clear CPI members who insisted on standing in solidarity with Iran and calling out the wealthy zionist democrat funders of the march who refused to include opposing the war in their demands. Founder and Director Caleb Maupin recalls how sympathetic the marchers were to CPI’s message and how this was very effective operation the organization carried out.
