Thanksgiving in Minneapolis: Banners, Peace Songs & Big Plans

Members of the Minneapolis CPI Innovation Circle staged a visible roadside action this week, unfurling two large political banners over a highway intersection and drawing attention from passing drivers and pedestrians.

One banner read “Jobs, Schools, Healthcare for America, Not Weapons for Ukraine,” while the second stated “USA Hands Off Venezuela!” Organizers said the display was intended to highlight U.S. foreign policy decisions they believe divert resources from domestic needs and harm international stability.

During the setup, a young man approached the activists to ask about the demonstration. Regional Captain Penny Arcos spoke with him at length.

“I told him the Peace Bridge has been on the table since Lincoln,” Arcos said. “And the negotiations for ending the Ukraine War included building the Bering Strait Tunnel with Elon Musk’s technology. He liked the idea that it would bring trade and development instead of war and sanctions.”

After the banner drop, members of the Innovationist Trio gathered in a local park to perform their signature piece, “Battle Hymn for a NEW Republic.” Their performance added a musical element to the day’s activities and drew brief attention from people passing through the area.

Later, the group shared a meal at a nearby buffet. Participants discussed sections of Khrushchevism: A Study in Psychological Warfare which they have been studying, a text central to the organization’s educational work, and used the time to deepen their understanding of CPI’s ideological framework.

The session concluded with planning for several upcoming initiatives, including continued outreach efforts, a local workshop, and a City Builders Day house party scheduled for March 15, 2026. Organizers described the day’s activities as part of an ongoing effort to build community engagement and strengthen local organizing.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the ending of the war

Zelensky looted billions… and he’s still demanding more

He has funded terrorism with the money that was yours

The grift is ending now

The Russian people are our neighbors just across the Bering Sea

They are fighting Imperialism that brings war and poverty

Millions died to beat back Hitler

Russia’s not our enemy

So end the sanctions now

Instead of war and sanctions, trade will rush in like a wave

We will build up mighty cities with the labor of the brave

Breaking free of Imperialism, our great country we will save

Let's trade with Russia now.
