Statement on the Murder of Khamenei and US Attack on Iran

The murder of Ali Seyyed Khamenei by the United States and Israel was a cowardly, dangerous act. It was done to serve the globalist/imperialist system and its drive for war. It was done against the interest of all humanity.

Celebrating such a cowardly act is not patriotic. Already, US military personnel are dying, and more deaths are to come, accompanying the scores of Iranians, including schoolchildren, already killed. Trump has betrayed the American people, most especially those who voted for him believing he would bring peace, while his opponent Kamala Harris promised to extend the wars.

81% of the American people are against this war, according to polls. To oppose this war, as the Center for Political Innovation does, makes one a representative of the majority and in the mainstream. It is our leaders who are extremists, and so fanatically loyal to Israel and its criminal leaders that they disregard public opinion, the interests of world peace, and basic human decency.

Why should any country ever negotiate with America again if this kind of betrayal happens amid negotiations and after huge concessions? Why should any government targeted by the United States avoid acquiring nuclear weapons if negotiations about Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program can result in this kind of insane, murderous attack?

We speak for the majority of the American people when we say we want OUT of the forever wars, and we further say that we want OUT of the system of globalism/imperialism that spawns them. Now is the time to build a real movement for a new America. Instead of war and the emerging low-wage police state, we need a government of action to fight for working families.

To other anti-imperialist forces who sympathize with anti-colonial forces around the world, we make this plea: DO NOT CELEBRATE THE DEATHS OF US MILITARY PERSONNEL, ISRAELIS, OR ANYONE.

This war is a tragedy for all humanity and should not be happening. Gleeful or hateful statements online, perhaps motivated by the obvious injustice and inhumanity of recent events, will hurt the ability for a real peace movement to emerge. Be careful with your words and actions. Focus on how we can come to encompass and express the almost universal opposition to this war among the US public, not on catharsis or emotional outbursts.

Many people getting political now do not know what actual organizing means. It is not hashtag revolution. It is not internet fandom or tailing after trendy liberal causes. We have a responsibility to show them by example what a life of struggle is all about — what it means to walk on the Great Road and take up the challenge of history.

Our leader, Caleb Maupin, saw Khamenei speak in 2015, shortly after participating in a humanitarian mission with the Red Crescent Society and rediscovering his Christian faith. The experience changed him forever. Our organization might not exist if it were not for what he witnessed in the auditorium where 20,000 gathered to greet the man who led their continuing revolution.

We urge people to get involved in the Center for Political Innovation. JOIN help us spread a message for rebuilding America outside the nightmare of globalist/imperialist decay.

Study our publications, watch our videos, engage with our members, and get involved.

Now is not the time to cry in anguish. It is a time to love our comrades, stand together, and most of all ORGANIZE!
