No “Years of Lead” in America! Political Violence serves Imperialism!
The Center for Political Innovation absolutely condemns the horrendous assassination that took place at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. Charlie Kirk’s politics may be far different from ours on almost all issues, but he obviously did not deserve to be killed for his political views. The celebration of this brutal act of terrorism, by a perpetrator or perpetrators still unidentified, is utterly disgusting.
Charlie Kirk’s assassination is a result of a toxic political culture defined by fandom and anti-fandom. Instead of being educated about history, economics, and grappling with how the country can be improved, Americans are engaged in worshipping social media voices and being mobilized to hate others. This is not productive. These social media interactions replace friendships and connections with neighbors, classmates, friends, and even family.
The Center for Political Innovation is not a social media organization, though we use it to advertise and engage. We are an in-real-life community of people who love our country but hate what globalism/imperialism is doing to it—and to the world. We call for a government of action that fights for working families. We want the U.S. to be restructured with a pro-growth, pro-humanity government that invests in communities and connects us with the rising new BRICS economy emerging in Eurasia, rooted in the anti-colonial revolutions of the 20th century.
The culture of celebrating political violence, demonizing people as “Nazis” or “white supremacists” because of their political stances, and celebrating people being killed because they take a bad position or say an offensive thing must immediately stop. Furthermore, the romanticization of lone-wolf killings as somehow heroic must end.
At this time, we must express extreme admiration for our founder and leader, Caleb Maupin. When Luigi Mangione was being celebrated as some kind of hero for allegedly murdering CEO Brian Thompson, Caleb Maupin wrote a book warning of “The Danger of an American Years of Lead.” In this groundbreaking text, he warned that the NATO apparatus was trying to foment false polarization and political violence in order to preserve the status quo, just as had been done during the infamous period in Italian Cold War history.
At the time, certain fandoms mocked CPI and falsely claimed we were “defending a CEO.” They insisted we were somehow in the wrong for not chasing the likes and shares we might have gained—the social media boost that was the payoff for fomenting a toxic culture now leading to more death and instability across America. Caleb Maupin directed us to do what was unpopular: stand against left-adventurism, terrorism, and the glorification of lone-wolf killings, and instead emphasize the need to build a real movement.
Innovationism is a new and exciting political movement. One thing that separates us from “communists” and “the left” in America is that we are not motivated by vengeance, resentment, a desire for cathartic revenge, or hatred of the United States. We are motivated by love of our families, our communities, our country, and humanity itself. We celebrate human creative power and the ability to propel toward a higher state of abundance. We want a government that breaks the power of big monopolies and the irrationality of the market in order to unleash human creativity, create greater abundance, and allow people to live in prosperity.
Because our movement is so unique, and because our leadership has such deep insight into the nature of politics in our time, we have been subjected to more harassment and defamation than nearly anyone else. Our small workshop in Minneapolis back in February was surrounded by hostile protesters who blocked doors. Members of the Party for Socialism and Liberation continue to claim we are “white supremacists,” hoping to inspire Antifa violence against us. Our members were recently forcibly removed from the People’s Conference for Palestine simply for giving away free copies our book on the history of Yemen—because leftists are so threatened by our optimistic message, which contrasts with their hate and pessimism.
We will not surrender. Each day we are proven more correct in our analysis. Each day Americans are coming to terms with the economic realities underlying the crisis and getting closer to seeking the answers only we can provide.
We will continue to build our community based on love, solidarity, and optimism, and learn to carry out successful, peaceful, legal educational operations to spread anti-globalist and anti-imperialist politics.
Our message to America is: Forget the internet hate. Get involved in our community of solidarity. Learn about Innovationism. Now would be a great time to Join!
We offer condolences to the family of Charlie Kirk and to everyone who has suffered from hate crimes, political repression, poverty, discrimination, or the other horrors of our deeply flawed society.
We can do better than this, but we need to learn how to struggle. To struggle, we must learn to think in a certain way. Caleb Maupin has developed a new way of understanding and building a movement that can help Americans learn to think and build, and we applaud him for that.
Dare to struggle, dare to win!
