Minnesota No Kings Day

Protestors in front of the Minnesota State Capitol
“No Kings! No Crowns! Democracy!”
This was the rallying call at the No Kings protest at the MN State Capitol on Saturday, June 14th, organized in response to President Trump’s violent ICE raids and his decision to deploy Marines to the streets of LA to attack protesters and to hold a military parade to celebrate his birthday.
We at CPI support the right to peacefully protest. But we understand that corporate sponsors, liberal nonprofits, and billionaires such as the Wal Mart heiress, Christy Walton, are funding this to distract people from the real enemy. The Imperialist/Globalist economic system run by Wall Street and the London Stock Exchange is the reason we have an immigration crisis and an economic crisis in the first place.
The No Kings March was overshadowed by grief after two Minnesota DFL lawmakers and their spouses were targets of political assassinations. I find it TRAGICALLY ironic that those who glorify the murder of Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO, are the same groups that vilify peaceful movements such as Medicare for All Marches, #Force The Vote, Rage Against the War Machine and #HANDS OFF UHURU. Then they are shocked when their own party members are assassinated.
Governor Walz released a statement advising protesters not to attend the march and denouncing political violence, stating, "We are not a country that settles our differences at gunpoint,” while continuing to fund Apartheid Israel and the Kiev Regime in Ukraine.
At the rally, MN Attorney General Keith Ellison bragged about the lawfare his party waged against Trump and denounced Trump's ICE raids and all his evil deeds. But dragging US troops into a war with Iran to “defend” Israel was not on that list.
The Party for Socialism and Liberation, Women’s March for Minnesota, LGBTQIA2S+++...... activists, Black Lives Matter, and veterans expressed their anger at billionaires like Elon Musk and at Trump for what they call an autocratic takeover of the country. Ending DEI, USAID and Black History were their major grievances. Rather than amplifying Culture War issues that pit minority groups against each other, CPI seeks to break this nation free of the Imperialist/Globalist economic system that destroys nations and impoverishes working families.
A plethora of flags were floating around at the rally. A flag bearer carried a Women Against Military Madness flag and a Palestine flag among the crowd as another protester carried a Ukraine flag. Others protesters carried upside down American flags, anarchy flags, LGBTQIA2S+++...... Pride flags and Mexican flags. I carried a sign that read: FEED AMERICANS: NOT THE WAR MACHINE. To those who liked my sign, I handed out CPI books titled: Who are the Houthis And What Are They Fighting For? and Do You Believe in Growth?.
I interviewed a US Navy veteran and a representative of the nonprofit About Face: Veterans Against the War. Both agreed that America should not be entangled in foreign wars. Ironically, Palestine supporters were not protesting against Ellison, even though Minnesota still funds Israel. These same liberals continue to compare Trump to Hitler while glorifying neo-Nazis in Ukraine.
At one end of the route, vendors were selling AOC 2028 and F*** Trump merch as protesters hung Mexican flags and other banners over the highway and cheered as cars honked in support. I can certainly see why people want change. Working families struggle to put food on the table. Medicaid and Social Security are on the chopping block. And our infrastructure is falling apart. Yet both parties continue pouring trillions of dollars into regime change wars for “DEMOCRACY”, risking nuclear annihilation.
Unfortunately, the call to action from the No Kings Movement was just to keep showing up to rallies. Not a word about the economy or the risk of nuclear war. Just “Orange Man Bad”. We need a strong leader who will put Americans to work rebuilding the country. A strong leader who will put Main Street over Wall Street and invest in healthcare and education for all Americans to build a thriving economy. We need a government of action that fights for working families. Join CPI today and help us build a mass movement to put working families first and defeat the Deep State.
