Kirill Dmitriev Arrives in NYC: CPI Hits the Streets for Peace & Bering Sea Bridge
On Friday, October 24th, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, arrived in New York City for an unannounced visit. CPI founder Caleb Maupin was among those invited to meet him in Manhattan and take note of his remarks. Dmitriev emphasized that Britain was primarily responsible for stalling efforts to negotiate peace in Ukraine and that the new sanctions on Russia would hurt Americans at the gas pump.
Dmitriev also spoke about how the details of a tunnel connecting Alaska to Russia through the Bering Sea are now a real possibility due to technological breakthroughs in AI and the innovations of Elon Musk. The idea of a “Peace Bridge,” “Friendship Bridge,” or “Bering Sea Tunnel” is something the Center for Political Innovation has long advocated, promoting it at Donald Trump’s inauguration in January with a large banner and thousands of pamphlets distributed outside the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
That evening, CPI members gathered in Times Square to rally for peace with Russia. The rally received strong support from tourists and passersby.
