Fire Bolton 2.0 - Little Marco MUST GO!

On December 8th, in her Substack, one of the bravest and most consistent US Peace activists, Medea Benjamin gave the President some very good advice. If he is serious about Peace then he must fire Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The Center for Political Innovation enthusiastically endorses this call. As Medea describes in the following quote from her article, Rubio is at the center of the efforts to sabotage Trump’s attempts to end the War in Ukraine.

“Zelenskyy and his European backers are still trying to persuade Trump that, with his support, they can win back at the negotiating table what Ukraine and its western allies lost by their tragic decision to reject a negotiated peace in April 2022. Russia was ready to withdraw from all the land it had just occupied, but the U.S. and U.K. persuaded NATO and Ukraine to instead embark on this long war of attrition, in which their negotiating position only grows weaker as Ukraine’s losses mount.

On November 21st, Trump unveiled a 28-point peace plan for Ukraine that was built around the policy Trump and Hegseth had announced in February: no NATO membership, and no return to pre-2014 borders. But once Rubio arrived to lead the U.S. negotiating team in talks in Geneva, he let Zelenskyy’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, and the Europeans put NATO membership and Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders back on the table.

This was a poison pill to deliberately undermine the basic concept of Ukrainian neutrality that Russia insists is the only way to resolve the security dilemma facing both NATO and Russia and ensure a stable and lasting peace.”

Rubio is playing the exact same role in this Trump Administration as John Bolton and Mike Pompeo played in the first one. He is sabotaging Peace. Trump came very close to ending the Korean War. Bolton and Pompeo deliberately sabotaged it. Now they are his open enemies. Did Trump learn his lesson, or will he fall for it again? Does he want to be remembered as a President who made History? Or merely as one who almost did?

The Center for Political Innovation urges President Trump to heed Medea Benjamin’s wise advice.

Fire Marco Rubio. Defend Peace.
