The Day Sydney Sweeney Stared Me Down
Hanging from the ceiling at the front entrance of the store, a huge poster of a blonde model posing on the floor in baggy jeans stops me in my tracks. She is staring into my soul as she holds one leg up in the air. Above her, the poster reads “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.” The beat drops, “All that she wants….is another baby. She's gone tomorrow, boy. All that she wants….”
My first reaction is, “Well, SHE'S open for business.”
Molly rushes to the front of the store to greet me with a hug and bright smile. “We gotta get TEN credit cards today. Susan is SOOOO STRESSED. We gotta do a great job for her today so she isn't so stressed. Okay?”
As I look around, I see this Sydney girl on EVERY POSTER. Leaning under the front hood of a car. Lying on her side, wearing nothing but blue jeans and an open denim vest. “Who is this Sydney chic?” I ask Molly. ”And why do we have to stare at her boobs all day?”
Molly smirks as she folds a pair of jeans perfectly to standard.
Little did I know this ad campaign had set off a firestorm on social media.
The Culture War Charade: Manufactured Outrage
While we were busy attending to customers for minimum wage and minimal hours, the Woke Mob was busy raising Cain on social media.

Even Senator Cruz, Don Jr and President Trump joined the cacophony of Anti-Woke rallying cries.

All proceeds from Sydney’s AE jeans with a butterfly motif were donated to a domestic abuse hotline. This pinkwashing hides the ugly reality of resource extraction and labor exploitation that sustains Imperialism/Globalism.
From limited-edition seductive bathwater soap (with a glossy photo) that scalpers sold for up to $2,000 a bar on eBay, to antioxidant drinks, beauty products, flip phones and now jeans, Sydney Sweeney’s body is the brand.
As AE stock prices skyrocket and Sweeney makes payments on her three multimillion dollar mansions, what benefit do her teenage fans and working women receive?

Those sexy jeans start with toxic and corrosive dyes pouring into rivers in Lesotho and Tanzania and end in 1,000 tons a week of second hand clothing piling up on the beaches in Ghana or set ablaze in Kenya. Even our own EPA protects corporations more than our lives.

A New Dawn is Rising: The Path to Peace and Prosperity
There is a better way. A new world of growth and innovation is rising in the East and in the Global South; a system that we could join, based on cooperation, not on domination.
China’s Belt and Road Initiative provides investments in roads and bridges, hospitals and megaports around the world to facilitate win-win trade agreements. Instead of imposing crippling sanctions and starting tariff wars, China exempts all African countries [except Eswatini, which recognizes Taiwan] from import duties.
The African Union has launched the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement (AfCFTA), its own duty-free trade agreement to boost added value production and intra-African trade.

Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the former president of Angola, is another example of a woman who leads by serving her people. Under her brilliant leadership, millions of people in this previously war-torn country were given dignity. Investments in roads, bridges, telecommunications, transportation and education brought the capital city of Luanda to life.
Despite the smear campaign that USAID and George Soros used to send her into exile under the Obama administration, the port workers, the oil field workers, the farmers of the countryside and millions of people whose living standards improved under her brilliant leadership are rallying for her to return and to run for president.
Rather than playing the role of an Imperialist/Globalist Pinup Girl, Isabel is an Innovationist who loves her country and is allied with anti-imperialist countries such as China and Russia.
