The Bering Sea US–Russia Connection: Could It Happen For Real?
On November 27th, the American Chamber of Commerce held a Thanksgiving Day Gala in Moscow. The guest of honor was Kirill Dmitriev, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund. He was presented with the American Chamber of Commerce Award “for leadership in fostering the US–Russia dialogue.”
Kirill Dmitriev is a primary advocate of building the Bering Sea Tunnel to connect the United States with Russia. He mentioned the idea during his recent visit to the United States when he addressed the press in Manhattan, with CPI Founder Caleb Maupin standing right next to him.
The Bering Sea Bridge may seem like just another infrastructure project, but it is vitally important. It will connect the United States with the rising new BRICS economy in the Russian Far East, China’s Belt and Road, etc. It will pull the United States further away from the dying colonial order centered around Wall Street and London, and closer to the new world that has emerged as a result of the anti-imperialist revolutions of the 20th century.
The Center for Political Innovation views the Bering Sea Tunnel, sometimes called “The Peace Bridge,” as a nudge in the right direction and a project for anti-imperialists to promote.
CPI members unfurled a banner that said “Build The Peace Bridge” at Trump’s inauguration in Washington, DC back in January. CPI distributed 2,000 pamphlets that discussed the project to crowds that day.
CPI members continue to raise the Bering Sea connection around the country in protests and demonstrations supporting the peace talks. As hope rises that the Ukraine conflict may finally end, with realistic proposals being discussed, the possibility of the project being realized seems more possible than ever. Now is the time to shout from the heavens: “Build the Peace Bridge! Jobs and Schools for America! Russia is NOT our enemy!”
