Opposing “Animal Farm” in NYC - Saturday May 2nd

8th Ave & 42nd Street

Saturday, May 2nd, 4:30pm

With Victory Day approaching, and people across the world celebrating and commemorating the defeat of fascism by the Soviet Union, China, Great Britain, and the United States, a new Hollywood rollout of George Orwell’s propaganda is unappreciated. At a time when international tensions are high and mutual understanding is needed, Seth Rogen has decided to release a new version of Animal Farm, an old Cold War screed that portrays the Russian Revolution in the form of livestock toppling a farmer and attempting to build an egalitarian society.

“It’s got every old anti-communist cliché,” a Center for Political Innovation organizer remarked. “Some are equal, but others are more equal… George Orwell was a literal propagandist for the British Ministry of Information. He was a former colonial policeman, and he fought in Spain with Trotskyites who helped undermine the republic for Franco.”

The Russian Revolution of 1917 and the Chinese Revolution of 1949 led to the two Eurasian nations industrializing, electrifying, wiping out illiteracy, and becoming superpowers. Hundreds of millions of people directly benefited from the achievements of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of China. The Soviet Union pioneered space travel. China is now the second-largest economy on earth.

The Center for Political Innovation is assembling at 4:30 PM on Saturday, May 2nd, at 8th Ave and 42nd Street to protest the new George Orwell film. A banner that reads “Russia and China Saved Humanity from Fascism: They Are Not Farm Animals!” will be unfurled, along with other placards and the Soviet, Chinese, and American flags.
