Marjorie Taylor Greene Resigns: What Next for America?

By Caleb T. Maupin, Founder and Director

Marjorie Taylor Greene has resigned from the US House of Representatives, set to leave her office on January 8th. This comes after being labelled “Marjorie Traitor Greene” by Trump, and after being harshly critical of Trump on issues related to his support for Israel and his delay in releasing the Epstein files. Her resignation is being interpreted as a significant defeat for Dissident MAGA — the elements of the Trump movement who have objected to how Trump has governed. This nuanced situation requires some careful analysis.

Dissident MAGA is right in much of its criticism of Trump. They have rightly opposed Trump supporting Israel and its crimes. They have rightly called out Trump for being slow in ending the Ukraine conflict, something he promised to do immediately after taking office. They have called out Trump for his hypocrisy on the issue of free speech, where he has targeted anti-Israel students for their legal protests.

Dissident MAGA is right

The layer of the US public which is very massive that is rightly called “Dissident MAGA” is the most important constituency for anti-imperialists to pay attention to. While its representation in mainstream media and in Congress is limited, the number of Americans it represents is quite vast. Among Trump supporters, Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Nick Fuentes have a huge audience, and the principles espoused by Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie, and to a lesser degree by Nancy Mace, Anna Paulina Luna, and Rand Paul, are widely respected. There are millions and millions of Americans who have a worldview that aligns with Dissident MAGA.

The Center for Political Innovation puts forward an optimistic message, pushing for a new America beyond Globalism/Imperialism.

The left is completely lost. Democratic Socialists of America, the remaining Marxist-Leninist sects, the various Trotskyites, Anarchists, and Social Democrats are mostly pro-imperialist at this point. They view Russia and China as “fascist” and support any mobilization against them as long as it is done in the name of progressive values. They view Trump as the main danger, and happily work with the pro-NATO establishment against him. They are waging a culture war against Christianity and patriotism, not a class struggle. They dismiss all Americans who question the transgender fanatics or oppose abortion as “Nazis” and advocate violence against them. They defend the FBI and continue to uphold vaccine mandates and lockdowns despite all that has been revealed. They embrace climate hysteria and genocidal Malthusian economic conceptions. Other than opposing Israel and its crimes — often doing so in the most anti-populist and anti–working class ways imaginable — the left is completely lockstep behind globalism/imperialism and its agenda of a low-wage police state and regime-change wars.

There are certainly many elderly “socialists” who orbit Jimmy Dore, campaigned for Bernie Sanders, and question the disastrous pivot the left has taken in the previous 10 years, but they are not welcome in any established leftist space. Dissident MAGA is the only visible cluster of solid opposition to wars, attacks on civil liberties, and the impoverishment of working families. Dissident MAGA is full of outdated Cold War anti-communism, libertarianism, fantastical conspiracy claims, and other confusions. But Dissident MAGA is true to its principles. It stands against wars, in favor of freedom, and it demands economic development and an improved relationship with the BRICS countries. It supported Trump on the basis of sentiments opposing the foreign policy establishment and deep state and has not given Trump a pass on his failure to deliver.

Dark Forces Seek to Manipulate Dissident MAGA

Keeping in mind that Dissident MAGA is correct in sticking to its principles, it is clear that immediately prior to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation, she was being boosted by forces who do not agree with her at all. Greene was featured on The View. Many Democratic Party and mainstream voices were suddenly highlighting her.

The Epstein issue has been seized upon by cynical forces. We all know that prior to Trump’s 2024 victory, your typical Democrat would dismiss any talk of Epstein as “crazy conspiracy theories.” Only when it became a talking point against Trump — who they oppose in defense of the FBI and in support of prolonging the Ukraine war — did they acknowledge the ugly reality of what this Zionist operative did behind the scenes in US circles of power. Even as they acknowledge that Epstein existed and raise it against Trump, they are not sincere about what the scandal actually means and how controlled US elected officials are. Their understanding of the Epstein affair is limited to a shallow proclamation of “Trump hung out with a sex pervert!”

While Dissident MAGA is correct, the forces that seek to oust Trump in the hopes of prolonging the Ukraine war and defending the FBI and intelligence apparatus from him were opportunistically highlighting them. Much like the Democrats were happy to use Bernie Sanders and the many genuine anti-imperialists who grouped around his campaign, but then deployed BreadTube to destroy them after Biden was elected, the Democrats are hoping to boost Dissident MAGA to depose Trump, and then crush them in a similar manner. The way Jimmy Dore was treated as if he was the incarnation of evil simply for raising #ForceTheVote tells you what the Democrats have in store for Dissident MAGA once they are done using them against Trump. In modern leftism, anti-establishment sentiments of any kind are not tolerated and equated with Nazism.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation was a brave and noble act. She resigned to avoid becoming a tool of the establishment she opposed. With Trump calling her a traitor, the only way she could remain in Congress would be to pivot into the anti-Trump faction. Greene’s resignation contained a bombshell revelation — that another impeachment of Trump is looming. She did not reveal on what grounds Trump will be impeached, but revealed it is coming before any knowledge of it hit the mainstream press. Greene left because she did not want to be part of the process.

In light of the death of Charlie Kirk, and the widespread belief among Dissident MAGA that Kirk was killed because his views on Israel were shifting, Greene’s resignation will widely be interpreted as the work of the Israel lobby. Whether Greene was actually threatened with death by pro-Israeli forces — a real possibility — or whether she simply operated in a strategic manner as Trump denounced her is irrelevant. Her resignation will make her a martyr in Dissident MAGA circles and enables her to avoid becoming an ally of the Democrats. She can now continue to exist as a Dissident MAGA voice, criticizing Trump for not staying true to his America First principles and putting out an anti-Israel, anti-FBI, and Russia-friendly message.

While Dissident MAGA is correct in opposing Israel and opposing the wars, dark forces are seeking to use Dissident MAGA and lead it in a bad direction. Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and many other dissident voices are sincere despite any mistaken ideas they hold — but Nick Fuentes is not. Nick Fuentes’ content consists of insult comedy, shock-jock childishness that cannot be mistaken for serious politics. He is an actor taking on the persona of a sarcastic teenage boy. He has called Greene, the member of Congress closest to his views, “Large Marge,” and spoken endlessly about details of her personal life and divorce. He has ranted against Candace Owens, another conservative anti-Israel voice, using racist language that is shocking even by alt-right standards.

Nick Fuentes’ racist, shock jock insult comedy should not be mistaken for serious politics. He is not to be trusted as he directs Dissident MAGA to hysterically denounce Trump.

Nick Fuentes’ rhetoric pulls a lot from white nationalism, but also panders very hard toward Traditional Catholicism. Traditional Catholics are a very diverse crew, and among them are figures like E. Michael Jones who are sympathetic to Iran and critical of capitalism. However, the bulk of Trad Catholics generally have a standard neocon view of foreign policy that is simply seasoned with clerical anti-communism and antisemitism. Trad Catholic networks are notoriously cooperative with the FBI, and many prominent FBI agents boast of their Catholic faith while celebrating the FBI’s COINTELPRO history as great anti-communism.

Trad Catholics differ theologically from Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo, and Amy Coney Barrett, all of whom attach themselves to various evangelical infiltrations of the Catholic Church that emerged during the 1980s, such as “People of Praise.” However, Trad Catholics are largely pro-imperialist and extremely naive in their outlook.

Nick Fuentes’ sudden proclamation of admiration for Stalin (while repeating standard anticommunist lies) and desire for a left–right alliance must be treated with suspicion. It may be correct in principle for dissident conservatives to break with free-market capitalism, but anything led by Nick Fuentes — and anything done to serve the establishment in its drive to oust Trump for bad reasons — cannot be coming from a good place. Trump’s friendliness to Mamdani at the White House was certainly refreshing, and does indicate perhaps hope for an alliance of dissident forces. It came as Nick Fuentes was giving a shrill “F— Trump!” message to his supporters, almost urging them to burn all bridges within Trump’s camp and run into the arms of an even more controlled and pro-imperialist “left.”

As was seen in Charlottesville and on January 6th, the establishment loves to play a game of political jujitsu with MAGA and its more extreme adherents. The idea is to lead them into situations where people can be hurt or killed, doors can be left open, and they can be led to engage in activities that are easily demonized in order to justify a crackdown.

Communist “sleeper” organizations that engage in almost no education should be avoided.

It should be noted that many new “communist” formations that engage in almost no ideological education, but work very hard to be a visible incarnation of communism, seem to be shadowing Nick Fuentes. Their communities intertwine online. They echo each other in crass politics lacking substance and vulgar insult comedy. These communist groups are likely “sleepers” to be used in future provocations, and should be rightly treated as such.

One potentially dangerous current exists within Dissident MAGA as well, and that is an element of trauma-based feminism. While Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation contained her emphatic opposition to abortion, certainly not a “feminist” stance, she compared herself to a battered wife. Nancy Mace has engaged in a bizarre public confrontation with her ex-husband related to nude photos. The Epstein case is an example of the worst of American politics, but a certain layer of reaction to it is rooted in the extreme emotions of those who view TrueCrime content and are easily mobilized against whoever is labelled as a “predator” without question. Much like the woke left thrives on amped-up emotions and trauma-based victimhood identity, a layer of this kind of mindset is arising on the right. In the age of social media manipulation and targeted demonization campaigns by the deep state, facts matter. Shrill emotions and trauma can be weaponized. An emotional atmosphere based on fear should not be encouraged.

Center for Political Innovation has held two national days of action to support the Alaska Summit, the Bering Sea Tunnel, and an end to the Ukraine conflict.

What Can We Do?

The Center for Political Innovation is not a political party. It does not run candidates for office or campaign for candidates. We are simply an education project, looking to build a community of people dedicated to raising awareness about globalism/imperialism and laying the foundations for a layer of US society — an anti-monopoly coalition — that can pivot toward the new global economy, the BRICS world, built on the foundations of socialist and anti-colonial revolutions.

We must embrace this role and use it as an opportunity to not get caught up in the various schemes and manipulations of the enemy. The hope for a peace deal in Ukraine is rising once again. We must be the visible voice in the streets supporting it, and emphasizing why Russia is not our enemy. We must continue to bring people into our circles and educate them about why forming a serious network of activists who can carry out operations and engage in real anti-imperialist education is important.

The CPI #PeaceMAGA operation hit the streets of NYC and DC highlighting peace with North Korea and opposing war.

Trump has been a huge disappointment so far, but amid all of it, he has the potential to do good. Tulsi Gabbard is his intel director, and interest in economic cooperation with Russia and a serious peace deal in Ukraine is very apparent in his administration. We have no hatred for Dissident MAGA, and they are correct in much of their criticism and outrage at the Trump administration. That said, we have no need to jump in with their “F— Trump” proclamations, and need to be aware that dark forces may manipulate them. We also must warn those we are in contact with not to get led into any traps, where their good intentions can be manipulated.

We disrupted the Democrats’ “No Kings” rallies across the country, to scream “Hands Off Venezuela!” We have had two national days of action to support the Alaska Peace Summit and the hope for ending the conflict in Ukraine. We will continue to be visible. We will continue to recruit and solidify our own ranks with the Khrushchevism book.

We will continue to do our good work and preach our good message, amplifying what is correct and true, opposing new wars, standing with those under attack like the Uhuru Movement and Dr. Hak Ja Han, and teaching our unique Innovationist message. Our January 11th gathering in New Jersey will kick off the new year, which should include a series of regional workshops all leading to another national convention in August.

In times such as these we can only stick with our principles and carry out our chosen tasks. We must learn to endure whatever storm hits us, and solidify the bonds of comradeship and love centered around our optimistic vision of a world beyond globalism/imperialism. Our mission remains just as important as ever, and we will continue to march forward.

Center for Political Innovation will kick off the new year with a January 11th gathering in New Jersey. Register for the event!
