The Iran-backed Houthis are blocking ships in the Red Sea (again). They bombed Saudi Arabia’s oil pipeline. Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. We are all paying the price at the pump.
Mainstream news calls the Houthis rebels or terrorists. They call themselves Ansar Allah — Supporters of God.
My mentor is Caleb Maupin — the founder of the Center for Political Innovation. He published this book: Who Are the Houthis? What Are They Fighting For? to explain the root of these wars. It's the system of Imperialism/Globalism, run by Wall Street and London. It holds back development to maintain monopolies.
When Americans began protesting against sending weapons to Israel in 2023, the Houthis blocked Israeli-linked ships. They set up a picket line in the Red Sea.
A picket line means: do not cross. The Minneapolis Teamsters union demonstrated that in 1934 right out here. They smashed the windows of scab trucks with baseball bats. The cops fired on the picketers to “restore order.”

In the Red Sea, Biden, then Trump, bombed Yemen to “restore freedom of navigation." We lost billions of dollars, a sailor and two Navy Seals in a war against a bunch of men in sandals in the poorest country on Earth. The Houthis don't fear our bombs. They only fear God.
Ansar Allah is a popular, anti-imperialist movement that is allied with Iran. They practice Zaidism, a form of Shia Islam and believe it is their duty to stand with the oppressed. In 2015, they ousted the American-backed puppet regime and took over the government.
The US and Saudi Arabia have been bombing them and blocking humanitarian aid ships ever since. Caleb was on one of those aid ships – from Iran. He doesn’t just teach this stuff. He lives it.
Hussein Al-Houthi, the founder of Ansar Allah, taught them why Yemen was kept poor despite an abundance of arable land and 3 billion barrels of oil: They don’t want us to plant. Because they know what it means to cultivate. Whenever we cultivate our power, when we possess our power, we are able to say; ‘No.’ Their logo says it all: a gun for self-defense, a hand for God, and a shaft of wheat for economic development.
The Houthis and Iran are fighting the same system Americans fought in the Revolution and the Civil War.
The British Empire kept America underdeveloped, using slaves to produce cheap cotton for their textile industry. CHEAP COTTON! The Second Great Awakening was a mass movement of Christians against slavery. It inspired John Brown – who also called himself a Supporter of God – to raid Harper’s Ferry and incite a slave uprising. His actions helped spark the Civil War. He was executed for treason but his portrait hangs in the Kansas State Capitol: the Bible in one hand and a gun in the other.
Christianity and Shia Islam. Two mass movements. The same cause.
The Imperialists/Globalists fund forever wars to hold back development.
But a multipolar economy based on win-win trade is rising in the East – headed by Russia, Iran and China. High speed rail. Farming in Siberia. The Arctic frontier.
Americans could be part of that rising economy. The way to do it is to build a Peace Bridge, a rail tunnel, across the Bering Strait, to connect Alaska with Russia and open up trade. This vision began with Lincoln, and now….. American engineers have signed a contract and are drawing up the plans as we speak.
The Houthis are fighting for the right to grow their own food. We want the right to build — hospitals, schools, roads, high-speed rail. It's the same fight. Instead of bombing Yemen and Iran..
