1st Year for the Los Angeles Innovation Circle
by Dan Nowman
The Center For Political Innovation was founded by international journalist, author, and political analyst Caleb Maupin in 2021 on the east coast. He frequently livestreams on YouTube and is seen on popular podcasts such as the Jimmy Dore Show, The Mother of All Talk Shows with George Galloway, Due Dissidence, the Kim Iverson Show, and Garland Nixon and has been heard on Pacifica radio stations WBAI in New York City and KPFK in Los Angeles to name just a few examples.
CPI is a sociopolitical education project and community of solidarity deeply aligned with an optimistic, pro-growth, anti-imperialist vision.
On its’ website and in a lot of its’ media, CPI frequently discusses the importance of “a government of action that fights for working families” instead of a government that primarily serves the goals of those sitting at the top.
We support economic development instead of an economy prioritized by imperialism and monopoly. CPI has coined the term ‘innovationism.’
The CPI four point economic plan offers the potential for real solutions to many societal problems and provides the context of mobilizing people and building a real movement for optimistic change. Members of CPI understand that abundance for ALL isn’t just some kind of utopian dream, but a real idea. CPI is a serious organization that knows a serious movement of a significant number of people demanding a government working for the people is a big part of the solution for the U.S. and the world as a whole.
CPI- Los Angeles was formed in 2024 and conducts outreach all around the L.A. area each week. Our messages of peace, economic growth and prosperity for all, and more have been seen by thousands of folks from the eastside to the westside, and the north to the south.
Those messages have included No World War 3, No War With Russia, No War With China, No War with Iran, Free Palestine, Hands Off Uhuru, Africa, and Venezuela, No Money For War, Money For SNAP Not War, We Support the Peace Bridge (from Alaska to Siberia), and more!
Our first action was speaking with visitors to the Tournament of Roses of Parade on January 1st, 2025 in Pasadena.
We displayed messages of our support for peace talks with North Korea over freeway bridges.
We’ve engaged with numerous people at events such as No Kings, Fight Oligarchy, Free Palestine marches, Shen Yun, CicLAvia, the L.A. Times Festival of Books, and other public gatherings.
We have visited farmers markets, beaches, bookstores, universities, local activist group meetings, and other free speech areas with a lot of foot and vehicle traffic.
In May of 2025, founder Caleb Maupin conducted a workshop on the subject of ‘Do You Believe In Growth? - A New Day For Los Angeles and A New Day For America’ with a packed room on the eastside of L.A.
Each week depending on the issue and what is happening in our community, around the country and around the world, we have different activities.
For more information, you can go to our website cpiusa.org to learn more and become a member.
We also have a CPI- Los Angeles email list that you can sign up for to learn what we are doing each week here in L.A. to help build a real community and a real movement.
